Abstract

manual attendance marking is not always effective as one needs to spend extra time for arranging records and calculating the average attendance of every student.  Manual checking of attendance may be time consuming, inconsistent and prone to errors. Inasmuch as people aren’t perfect, with manual checking of attendance, there’s a possibility that they accidentally switch details and end up with inconsistency in data entry or in hand written orders. RFID based Attendance recorder with SMS alert System is an application that was developed by the researchers to overcome the above stated problem that can provide a computerized attendance checking of SHS students in CVCITC. The objective is to implement a time wise, convenient and innovative way of attendance checking.  This study made use of the developmental research design since it proposed an Attendance Monitoring System using RFID Reader with Short Messaging Service. The CAMS: CVCITC Attendance Monitoring System was studied and analyzed to provide a convenient, reliable and time-wised attendance monitoring for the Senior High School students. The system was created using the method and procedures of Rapid Application Development.

Abstract

Inventory Management is necessary and applicable for large, medium, and small companies. On the contrary, however, inventory management practices among small-scale businesses are still scarce and their success rate cannot be properly traced aptly because small-scale owners such as grocery store owners have the limited or less financial foundation to adopt a modern inventory management approach. Hence, this study is established to assess the inventory management practices of small-scale businesses in Santiago city primarily on Purchasing, Records Keeping, Storing, Ordering, Receiving, Monitoring and Pricing of inventories. Furthermore, it also assesses the inventory management problems and challenges encountered by these enterprises. Through the quantitative research approach, this study identifies the Inventory Management Practices of Eight (8) Small Scale Businesses in Santiago City validated through the responses of owners and managers of the said business enterprises. The researcher used a self-made questionnaire that has undergone a validation process: Expert pooling, Refinement, Field-test, and Final Refinement. Data gathered in this study were treated by the use of simple statistical tools such as the frequency distribution mean score. Results revealed that Small Scale Business success depends on the extent of Inventory Management Practices that the company has undertaken as it determines the efficiency and productivity of the business. Moreover, Inventory Management Practices of Records Keeping, Storing, Ordering, Receiving, and Monitoring are frequently practiced among Small Scale Businesses in Santiago City. However, pricing is still a continuing problem among them. Hence, it is suggested that owners/managers and employees should assess the different strategies they made for them to enhance business performance. In addition, proper and adequate training among business owners is required for them to improve their capabilities in managing conflicts regarding inventory management.

Abstract

Prostitution is the world’s oldest profession, it can take many forms and take place in many different venues including escort services, massage parlors, and at the street level. They are depicted in movies as women who are scantily dressed, drug addicts whose attractiveness is usually overpowered by their visibly worn-down attitude from harsh times on the street. Streetwalkers/Prostitutes are at higher risks from beatings, rape, and even murder. This study investigated the case of female streetwalkers in the area of Mabini, Santiago City. The Qualitative Research Design was used in this study. The respondents were the female streetwalkers in Mabini, Santiago City. The data were collected through closed interviews which were crossed-checked by the guidance counselor and adviser. The study revealed that because of poverty and sometimes pleasure, female streetwalkers are engaged in the sex trade.
