Inventory Management is necessary and applicable for large, medium, and small companies. On the contrary, however, inventory management practices among small-scale businesses are still scarce and their success rate cannot be properly traced aptly because small-scale owners such as grocery store owners have the limited or less financial foundation to adopt a modern inventory management approach. Hence, this study is established to assess the inventory management practices of small-scale businesses in Santiago city primarily on Purchasing, Records Keeping, Storing, Ordering, Receiving, Monitoring and Pricing of inventories. Furthermore, it also assesses the inventory management problems and challenges encountered by these enterprises. Through the quantitative research approach, this study identifies the Inventory Management Practices of Eight (8) Small Scale Businesses in Santiago City validated through the responses of owners and managers of the said business enterprises. The researcher used a self-made questionnaire that has undergone a validation process: Expert pooling, Refinement, Field-test, and Final Refinement. Data gathered in this study were treated by the use of simple statistical tools such as the frequency distribution mean score. Results revealed that Small Scale Business success depends on the extent of Inventory Management Practices that the company has undertaken as it determines the efficiency and productivity of the business. Moreover, Inventory Management Practices of Records Keeping, Storing, Ordering, Receiving, and Monitoring are frequently practiced among Small Scale Businesses in Santiago City. However, pricing is still a continuing problem among them. Hence, it is suggested that owners/managers and employees should assess the different strategies they made for them to enhance business performance. In addition, proper and adequate training among business owners is required for them to improve their capabilities in managing conflicts regarding inventory management.
